Well this is now down to a 14 day cruise - I have decided for any number of reasons to do Bermuda next year in conjunction with my Dawn Boston to NOLA cruise - after having spent so much time earlier this year I just didn't have it in me both mentally and financially to be away for an extended period of time.
I also have booked my Amtrak transportation but even that was a challenge as they were all sold out of sleepers for the day that I wanted which just happens to be the start of the Columbus Day weekend so I am going to take the regional service from Boston South Station to New York Penn and stay overnight at the Vanderbilt Y - stayed there once before and the location is fine - then the next day I will use the regional service to Pittsburgh before connecting with Capitol Ltd to Chicago and the rest of the trip home - I could have upwards of 4 hours in Pittsburgh - while the train has stopped there I have never really step foot in the City but it appears that the area around the station is right in the thick of things so I may be able to enjoy a few of the sights.
I do need to start planning what I will be doing excursion wise in the various ports and to that extend I am doing what I did for SA cruise - have a three ring binder and have put a page for each port and then will add materials as I find info that I can use on the trip.
